About the Duo
The Roncesvalles Duo, formed by Elena Jáuregui (violinist) and Francisco Javier Jáuregui (guitarist), made its debut in 1997 in Granada and since then has performed throughout Spain, UK, Italy, Iceland, France, and Southeast Asia in festivals such as City of London Festival (UK), Kirkjuaejarklaustur Chamber Music Festival (Iceland), Festival de Segovia and Clásicos en Verano de la Comunidad de Madrid (Spain) and in venues such as St Martin–in-the-Fields and LSO St Luke’s (London) and the European University Institute (Florence). Their music has been aired in a number of radio and television stations including Spanish National Radio and Television.

Elena and Francisco Javier believe in the importance of bringing music to everybody and of offering everyone a chance to participate in the creative process of music making, which should not be reserved just for musicians! The Roncesvalles Duo have always tried to find ways of taking music beyond the traditional concert hall, but it was after moving to the UK when they discovered the wide range of possibilities in this field while studying their MMUS at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Directed by Elena and Francisco Javier Jáuregui, the International Music Festival of Navarra (FIMNa) is a gathering of musicians from all over the world who get together to play music in a place of great beauty, Eugi, in the Esteríbar Valley, Navarra (Spain). FIMNa´s programme for this year will be an exciting mix of concerts, outreach projects and social concerts. At the moment, Elena and Francisco Javier are preparing the 2011 edition of the festival which will take place between the 18th and 23rd of August.
